Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition that occurs in teens, when hair follicles of the skin plug with oil and dead skin cells. Symptoms includes inflammation, large, reddish pus-filled pimples and formation of comedones.
Salicylic acid allows the epidermal cells to slough off and clears the clogged follicles of the skin, which reduces pimple formation.
