Product Description

Dacotin RTU 100mg Injection consists of the active ingredient Oxaliplatin. It is prescribed to treat stage 3 colon cancer and colorectal cancer, along with other anti-cancer treatments. Colorectal cancer develops from the accumulation of various genetic mutations. Both environmental and genetic factors play a significant role in the origin of colorectal cancer. This medicine works against tumors that are resistant to cisplatin therapy.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It makes men infertile, hence men should take doctor advice about the freezing of sperm before the treatment. You must avoid driving after taking this medicine as it may cause dizziness.

How to use

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

Serious:

• Abnormal bleeding or bruising
• Severe allergic reactions
• Continuous diarrhea and vomiting
• Sore throat and fever
• Irregular heartbeat
• Muscle pain and weakness
• Mouth ulcers
• Extreme tiredness and breathlessness
• Headache
• Altered mental function
• Blurred vision
• Seizures

Common:

• Reduced number of blood cells
• Unpleasant sensation in the throat
• High risk of infections
• Indigestion and heartburn
• Blood in urine
• Blood clots
• High BP
• Depression and insomnia
• Low levels of calcium in the blood
